Shirley George

Shirley George works with willow plus

Natures fibres, natural form, colour and such.

Willow grown and gathered from her garden,

Elements foraged from local walks well-trodden.

Retired art teacher, ceramicist too,

Combining basketry, she wanted to pursue.

Attending traditional courses taught her much,

Native beasts, fur and feather, inspiration touch.

Creative experimentation is her passion,

Pushing the boundaries, disregarding fashion.

Occasionally, repurposed items may be seen,

Recycling and wabi sabi, of which she’s keen.
