Brush Making Workshop

Create a beautiful handcrafted brush with natural fibres and coloured threads with Weave Only A Trace artist-maker, Ruth Denison.  Learn how to bind natural plant fibres into 'turkey wing' or fan brushes using traditional techniques. All plant fibres and a choice of coloured thread will be provided, allowing various combinations.

This workshop is part of Weave Only A Trace: An exhibition of basketry, wood and natural fibres. All workshops are suitable for beginners, and are designed to introduce visitors to some of the materials and techniques used by our artists in the exhibition. Workshops will be taught by one of our exhibiting artist-makers, and you'll get to take home whatever you make during the workshop.
